Technology Center 3700 is somewhat of a “catch-all” technology center, handling technologies as diverse as medical instruments, shoes and apparel, machine and hand tools, thermal and combustion technology, and refrigeration.

Its average allowance rate of 70% is on the low end at the USPTO (tied with TC 3600), and lower than the USPTO average of 76%. In terms of application volume, it is the second busiest at the USPTO after TC 2800, receiving over 300,000 applications between 2015 and 2019.
